Make a Toile, or Two!
Couture Confession #2:
Always make sure your couturiere makes at least one if not two toiles of your couture design before the fashion fabric is cut. This will save alterations being made to the design in the final fabric – you won’t want that!
I recommend at least two toiles in cotton muslin with every order. The first is to get the overall shape, cut and general fit right. The second is to make adjustments to the shape, cut and fit. The third is only really required if there is an unexpected fitting adjustment needed or there is an adjustment to the design.
